3 common mistakes on Instagram

Instagram has been the number one social media for a while, so it’s no wonder that more and more people are launching their private and business profiles on that network and use it to further brand themselves, a product they are selling or simply publish private stuff.
What’s happening and repeating are one of those same mistakes at all, so I’m writing this article and I hope it will come first to those I’m following on that network because I can no longer look at those things and then to reach more people to get better user experience on Instagram.
1. Link in post description
It is well known that Instagram is a social network where you can put a link in a single place, and this is in the description of the channel where the link for the site is provided. Still, I can see how youtube links or links to anything else put into the text of the post.
Do you really think that someone is going to type that link in browser?
We live in such a dynamic age that it is the biggest victory ever if you get half a minute of attention from your fans. The goal is that the person you submit the content in the shortest period reaches the ultimate goal without the need to type the link from Instagram post description to their browser.
No one will do this.
No one.
2. Using of the most popular hashtags
It’s a big mistake to use the most popular hashtags like #love, #nature, #friends and the like that have over one million to hundreds of millions of posts, and why is this a mistake?
Because your goal is to get to the top 9 posts of the hashtag and be visible on the hashtags. The frequency of new posts on these hasthags is literally a couple of seconds, which means that your post will be visible in the first three rows under the top post maybe a couple of seconds unless you have a account that is tracked by tens of millions.
Use hashtags according to the size and engagement of your account, less popular, more specific, so your chances of getting to the top post are considerably higher.
3. Sharing Instagram post to Facebook
Facebook is the owner of Instagram, but the type of posting on Facebook is NOT the same as on Instagram. Instagram is a network where things are on the move, behind the scenes, relaxed situations, current thoughts while walking down the street, situations when you are not in the business mode (if you are a business profile), filter images, macro photography …
And then the person shares the Instagram post on Facebook, which has a completely different philosophy along with all the hashtags ofrom Instagram. Tons of hashtags in a single Facebook post.
So ugly.
Hashtags on Facebook have no impact on reach.
They look unnatural.
This is done by people who are lazy and do not have special content for each network, so just divide them.
This does not work and please, if you’ve been doing it, do not do it anymore.
I once shared Instagram post on Facebook without knowing it, probably I accidentally pressed that button, unfortunately I came out 15 minutes later when it had already picked up a good number of engagement so I just removed the hashtags and left it.
A cup of tea, a vignette on the edge of the picture, just bad, it’s simply isn’t a picture that would ever go on Facebook.
Do not be lazy and do it as it should be done, this only leaves a bad impression.
What have we learned?
Instagram is number one social mdia and is terribly popular and anyone can launch a profile and a smart strategy to attract attendees, minders, and people who love what you are doing. Make sure it looks right:
- No links in post description
- Don’t use most popular hashtags
- Don’t share Instagram post on Facebook
