Prejudice

Prejudice is one of the traits we often express, and we are not even aware of how harmful it is. Let this short moral story revive you and encourage you to change!

There was a man who emphasized his desire to help others, he was generous and dear. The type of person that will help you without asking anything in return, and every time it will be strange to you, even though it shouldn’t be.

One day, walking through the road, he saw a woman’s purse. He picked up the purse and looked at her and saw that it was completely empty. Out of nowhere, a woman appeared with a policeman, accused the man for stealing her purse!

“Where’s my money?” She asked, almost yelled at him
“The bag was empty when I found it, ma’am,” said the man calmly.
“Give me the money, that’s for my son’s tuition!” She said to him, almost in tears.

His desire to help others was so strong that he couldn’t do anything but this – he gave her all his money. Assuming that she is poor and don’t have any financial income, he just wanted to help another humain being. He put his ego aside, even tough she thinks he is a thief and nothing but thief.

“Here, take the money, sorry for the inconvenience” said the man and handed her the money out of his wallet.

The woman took it quickly and went away, and the cop kept the man to question him. The man told him the whole situation, and the police officer let him go, expressing regret over the whole situation.

Later, the happy woman started counting the money and realized that she had received twice as much money as she had when she lost her purse, which was unclear to her. A day when she had to pay a tuition fee to her son arrived and on the way to school, she noticed that a skinny man was following her, exhausted in eyes and really weak in his face.

“This is probably some junkie who will rob me” she thought.

She came to the policeman who stood by the road and complained that someone was following her  and it turned out to be the same police officer whom she reported the purse stealing.

When he turned around to show him the person who followed her, the man fell down.
They helped him realized that he was the same man she had accused of stole her purse. He looked very weak, and the woman was completely confused.

“Why did he follow me? He thought he would go unpunished again?” she said with anger

“He didn’t return your money back that day. He gave you his money. He didn’t steal from you, but when he heard you losing money for your son’s tuition, he wanted to help you and gave you all your money” the office explained.

The woman was in shock. She was worried about him and was asked him whether he is OK and offered him some water and to buy something for him to eat. The man got up and came to himself.

“Do not worry about me, go pay the tuition fee to your son. I saw you and followed just to make sure no one robbed you and stealing you money for his tuition. “

She remained silent.
