Stop looking for a perfect plan and start now!
When asked at conferences what advice would I ive to people, in the past year I gave the only advice that came from my experience.
Do not plan a lot, do not think much, do not work on great strategies. Do the minimal thing and just go.
And whenever someone asks for advice, I always say the same sentence.
Why this advice? Let’s analyze it.
Don’t plan a lot
You’re launching something and you’re full of plans, you want everything to be perfect. On the paper, you spread the whole strategy, scenarios, everything looks so good. Still, you do not feel ready to start because you still need to plan some other things carefully, you do not have to run.
Sounds familiar?
Stupidity! Get going! Get going as fast as possible, jump into that like never before! Believe me, 99% of it will not be as you planned, no chances. Because your plans are subjective in your head, you only have one person who can give you feedback on them, and that’s person is you!
At that moment, you live in an ideal balloon and it’s all wonderful, and when you put your wonderful plan on the market and it turns out to be a total failure, most of you give up. Get started with minimal plans, because that’s how everyone gets involved, adjust yourself along the way.
Perfectionists will not go far unless they leave such an approach.
Don’t think much
These are mostly those who are full of ideas. Just ideas, only ideas. The idea for me is nothing but ordinary mind-shaking thoughts, inspired by enthusiasm that is the outcome of a situation in which we found ourselves and brought us to it.
Too many thoughts are also delaying the realization because we are simply not ready to catch up with the reality that tells us that we should do something and work around this thought, and the more we think, the more negative scenarios, and we give up.
Execution does not happen in the head than around it.
Don’t make big strategies
Taking a big idea, we are going to make long-term strategies right away. For a year we will achieve this, for two years we will start it, the profit will be this and then we will have at least so many and so many customers and so in the low.
The two hours we’re doing, all in excel or A4 papers are pretty fun, but they’re just a waste of time. Strategy development comes only later, after spending a year creating content in complete anonymity. Strategy development comes when we build the foundations of our home.
A serious strategy is only being done when you realize what you have been creating.
Do the minimal thing and start
I read an excellent book, called The Lean Startup by Eric Ries. In short, the point is to make a minimal product that has the most basic functions and to release it to the market. The market will give feedback and then we will change the functionality and adapt it through.
It does not even have to be a real product, because if you did not know, Dropbox went by creating a video showing the Dropbox functionality that was not real at the time, it didn’t even exist. The video eventually offered the possibility of sign-up for use, and the man did it to test the market and saw how it would react.
He got a lot of applications overnight and it was a sign that he should do it. Your product may be a Facebook page, it may be some kind of education, it can be bracelet or postcard – anything. Just do the minimal thing that will show you the basic functionality and go, and you will adapt everything along the way.
Are you waiting for a perfect plan? Do you keep your perfect idea? Looking for an ideal start?
I’m sorry, but you’re not for this world.
Nine to five where you do not have to think much and your boss give you the task is ideal for you.
And that’s all right and is no less valuable, because not all be entrepreneurs and have such a way of thinking.
There should be a balance.
My example
I had great plans when I started monetizing this project. I have made a complete change program where I would not only work on nutrition and training but also on changing mindsets and helping people to be a better version of myself. I shot a brilliant video, I was brilliant and started to market it.
I had a bunch of inbox messges in the first month but zero sales.
Zero.
In my wonderful head, in the first month I had at least five sales, the wisdom of working on changing human minds, helping to start your business, raising the level of consciousness not just about a healthy lifestyle but to everything else. Then after a month I realized that it would not go as wonderful as it sounded in theory.
I adjusted the program and the sales started. Although friends told me that it did not make sense and that too, I did not listen to them because I blindly believed in my idea and wanted to try, so I paid for 30 days of time that I could invest in something else.
So, based on my experience and examples, I want to give you the direction of not looking for a perfect start, a perfect plan, an ideal scenario because it will not be. At the beginning, you have a four-wheeled car, two of which are drilled, three and a half drum brakes and a half engine.
Can he drive?
Yes.
You’re ready for the race.
Go!
